Dr. Fabiana Severi

Dr. Fabiana Severi is a professor at the Faculty of Law of Ribeirão Preto in Brazil where she recently founded the project Rewriting Judgements from Feminist Perspectives, for which Dr. Severi formed a network of Brazilian researchers and academics to conduct research into historical decisions, to find if anything in that decision could be different when a gender lens or feminist methodological approaches are applied, with the goal of making judicial decisions more sensitive to the interests of women and other marginalized groups, since the justice systems often produce resolutions “harmful to the guarantee of women’s rights”. She also leads the Law and Gender Relations, General Theory of the State, Human Law and Constitutional law at USP, where her research focuses on feminist legal criticism and access to justice for women.  At USP, Severi is also the leader of the research group on Human Rights, Democracy, and Inequalities.
