Silke Meyer

Criminologist and Social Worker

Professor Silke Meyer is criminologist and social worker by training. Her work centres on different aspects of domestic violence (DV), including women and children’s safety, wellbeing and recovery, men’s accountability in their role as perpetrators and fathers, legal responses to DV, and the effectiveness of interventions addressing men’s behaviour change. Her work has been instrumental in shaping policies and practices that better support those affected by DV, ensuring that lived experience is centred in her research projects. Silke regularly designs and delivers training to support DV-informed practice in policing, court responses and child protection.
