Francisco González-Espejito

Psychologist and Researcher

Francisco González-Espejito is a licensed health psychologist and a researcher and lecturer at the Faculty of Psychology, Autonomous University of Madrid, within the Abuse and Violence in Interpersonal Relationships team. His work examines coercive control and undue influence in intimate, family, and high-control group contexts, including their extension into online spaces. He studies how control develops gradually, why people may remain trapped, and how to identify early warning signs. He also focuses on supporting families and close others, translating research into practical assessment and intervention guidance. Francisco is completing a semester at John Jay College as a visiting student.
