Alyson Messenger is the Managing Staff Attorney of Jenesse Center’s award-winning Legal Services Department. She leads Jenesse’s In-House Legal Services Program, the Domestic Violence Clinic at the Inglewood Courthouse, and Jenesse’s Domestic Abuse Response Team (DART) programs at LAPD’s 77th, Southeast, and Southwest Divisions. Alyson is also responsible for implementing and administering Jenesse’s pro bono initiatives, including free housing, immigration, family law, and restorative justice clinics. Before joining Jenesse Center, Alyson was a deputy district attorney with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office specializing in family violence and sexual assault cases. A graduate of Claremont McKenna College and UCLA School of Law, Alyson is passionate about improving access to legal services for underserved victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and other forms of trauma.
