Hannah Taylor, a proud Kamilaroi woman, brings a wealth of experience to her roles as a social worker and researcher. Currently pursuing her Ph.D., her research centers on the Intersectional factors of Coercive Control for First Nation women in Australia. Over the years, Hannah has collaborated extensively with Indigenous communities, using her skills in project management, leadership, and the implementation of health and wellness programs at both state and national levels.
Hannah’s journey began in child protection, where she uncovered systemic challenges within Indigenous communities. Motivated to drive change, she embarked on academic pursuits, including a Master’s degree. Her commitment to advocacy led her to work with human trafficking task forces in England and the United States, specializing in the rescue and rehabilitation of victims. She also played a pivotal role in crafting strategies for rehabilitating children involved in sexual offenses. Today, as the Cultural Coordinator for 1800RESPECT and a Ph.D. candidate, Hannah remains devoted to amplifying the voices of First Nation women and ensuring their perspectives shape key initiatives, all while balancing the joys of motherhood.
