Laura Richards

Laura Richards is a world renowned Criminal Behavioral Analyst with degrees in forensic & legal psychology, as well as an international expert on coercive control and male violence, sexual violence, homicide and risk assessment.

Laura is also a television & film producer (The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey, The Case of: Caylee Anthony, Dirty John, The Dirty Truth, and Jennifer 42) and host of the two hit podcasts Crime Analyst and Real Crime Profile, as well as a sought after media commentator who draws on a decade as former Head of the Homicide Prevention Unit at New Scotland Yard, followed by heading the Violent Crime and Intelligence Analysis Unit in the Metropolitan Police Service. 

Driven by the belief that “women’s lives matter”, Laura founded Paladin National Stalking Advocacy Service, created the DASH Risk Identification, Assessment and Management Model, now a standard policing tool in the UK, and wrote the book Policing Domestic Violence, and continues to train law enforcement professionals and practitioners in the UK and all over the world. Laura has been the architect of law reform to better protect victims on 8 occasions as well giving evidence in Connecticut, USA and Queensland, Australia, both leading to successful outcomes regarding coercive control law reform.
