Mark Vicente is a South African born author, speaker, and award-winning writer, director, and producer. An accomplished cinematographer, Vicente made his directorial debut with the sleeper hit What The Bleep Do We Know?!, a documentary that explores a spiritual connection between quantum physics and consciousness. Uniquely, Mark’s own journey as a member of the notorious cult NXIVM became the material for his HBO documentary series The Vow, which tells the story of how Mark and a small band of whistleblowers exposed the cult’s criminal behavior, resulting in multiple arrests and prosecutions. Vicente developed a passionate interest in exposing coercive and duplicitous behaviors, and always seeks new and revolutionary ways to raise awareness through film. In his latest documentary Empathy Not Included, he explores malignant narcissism and the abusive strategies narcissists use against their victims.
