Nerea Novo is a journalist and data analyst. In 2020, she received the Best Practices in Non-Sexist Communication Award for updated information and data on femicides and other sexist murders by the Association of Journalists of Catalonia (ADPC).
Nerea specializes in research documentation and reports, data analysis, the design and creation of arguments, and the use of infographics and didactic material to support the above. In recent years, she has played the role of journalist and data analyst at Asociación La Sur, where she has been prominent in documenting femicides and other murders of women in Spain since 2010, using the Geofeminicidio.net database.
Nerea’s work with international organizations includes coordinating data and analysis with researchers across continents to advance the prevention and awareness of the pervasiveness and impact of sexual violence around the globe. She is currently dedicating her efforts to promote the Nordic Model within the realm of politics due to her belief that prostitution is a form of violence that disproportionately impacts women and girls.
