Alex Kasser is an attorney, an advocate and a former Connecticut State Senator. In 2018 she flipped a seat to become the first Democrat since 1930 to represent Greenwich, Stamford and New Canaan. In 2020, Kasser won re-election and has been a bold voice for defending democracy and advancing equality. She developed and passed ground-breaking legislation – Jennifers’ Law – to recognize coercive control as a form of domestic abuse, to protect victims and to prioritize children’s safety in custody battles. While Kasser served in public office, her own divorce became more public, and in June, 2021, she announced her resignation from the Senate.
