Sue Haile

Researcher and Advocate

Sue is a PhD Candidate at the University of Gloucestershire and is researching women’s safety and the voices of victims in Domestic Homicide Reviews. She worked closely with Professor Jane Monckton Smith on the intimate partner homicide timeline research project known as the 8 Stages of Domestic Violence Homicides, and they continue to work together on research projects examining stalking, coercive control, suicides and hidden homicides.

Sue also works as a specialist advocate supporting families bereaved by domestic homicides and suicides through domestic homicide reviews and inquests. She has worked and volunteered in the domestic violence sector for over forty years and has an in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse, coercive control and stalking.
